The Regional Prevention Center (RPC) located in Barbourville, Kentucky is a comprehensive program designed to mobilize and empower community resources to reduce and prevent substance abuse problems within the eight-county region.
The RPC works closely with community and regional entities such as law enforcement, schools, housing authorities, civic groups and others to spearhead Champions for a Drug Free Kentucky.
The staff works closely with the Division of Substance Abuse in implementing programs such as Fostering Strengths of Children from Alcoholic Families. This is designed especially for foster care parents.
Specific research-based curricula are utilized for training groups of all ages in the region. Substance abuse prevention programs are individualized to meet specific needs. RPC provides a resource library containing gooks, pamphlets, videos and access to the Internet on substance abuse prevention.
